This survey is intended to be completed by the person(s) responsible for the organization's
Internet connectivity.
MEDITECH VPN is a robust, firewall IOS, router-based VPN network. Digital Certificates,
IPSEC, dual inbound ACLs & static routes are used to protect the Confidentiality,
Integrity & Accessibility of the data flowing between MEDITECH VPN Partners and
your organization.
MEDITECH VPN alliances are MEDITECH, the MEDITECH Solutions Group within Perot Systems,
and other vendors, when applicable.
MEDITECH VPN is a fully-managed product from end-to-end. Only authorized MEDITECH
Solutions Group specialists are allowed to access MEDITECH VPN hardware.
The MEDITECH VPN Router acts as its own firewall. It requires external & internal
connections as follows:
- One Ethernet connection to the ISP network, i.e. the Internet or WAN
Your ISP Border Router is the gateway to the internet. This leverages the benefits
from your existing connection such as the dependability, bandwidth & Quality of
Service. A public address is required to be assigned to the MEDITECH VPN Router
interface. It must be in the same subnetwork as your ISP Border Router. If you have
a point-to-point cable between your firewall & your ISP Border Router, it must be
replaced with a switch or hub or the connection method must be modified.
- One Ethernet connection to the customer network, i.e. the LAN
Your MEDITECH servers & MEDITECH Solutions Group supported network devices will
be the only hosts allowed access through MEDITECH VPN when a connection is initiated
from a MEDITECH VPN Partner. A private address is required to be assigned to the
MEDITECH VPN router internal interface. If any supported hosts or devices are located
on different subnets than the MEDITECH VPN router internal interface, gateway addresses
to those subnets is required.
