MAGIC to Client/Server Migration

Migration from MEDITECH MAGIC to 6.0

An interview with Rick Lang, Vice President & CIO, and Robin Hall, Director of IS, Doylestown Hospital.

Technology Planning for 6.0

There is a lot of discussion these days about infrastructure requirements relating to the prospective migration of the MAGIC and Client/Server (C/S) 5.X community to MEDITECH's C/S 6.0. In our experience, most of these discussions focus on the potentially significant capital investment that hospitals currently running MAGIC are facing. While there is no doubt that an investment in IT infrastructure will be required for most hospitals to migrate to C/S 6.0, some careful thinking and advanced planning can significantly ease the transition.

Got Virtualization? Here's how it can help you migrate to 6.0

Virtualization can help you migrate to 6.0 from MAGIC, or update to 6.0 from Client/Server 5.x.

Interview with Richard (Dick) Latuchie, CIO at Regional Health, Rapid City, SD
Like many healthcare organizations, Regional Health saw the benefits of electronic medical record keeping as a strategic initiative towards achieving their long-term healthcare delivery objectives. As part of their implementation strategy, Regional Health decided to migrate from MAGIC to MEDITECH's Client/Server 5.6 platform and concurrently put into place a disaster recovery solution to ensure the safety and availability of the electronic data. They chose JJWild [now a Perot Systems Company] as their migration provider.

Profile of a successful conversion: Regional Health migrates from MAGIC to Client/Server 5.6

Here’s how one community-based healthcare network made a smooth and successful transition from MAGIC to Client/Server 5.6.

Key considerations in conversion from MAGIC to Client/Server

Thinking about upgrading from MAGIC to Client/Server? Here are a few questions you should be asking.

Interview with Hoda Sayed-Friel, MEDITECH's Vice President of Marketing
With the advent of MEDITECH’s Client/Server 6.0 Release, many hospitals are evaluating their long term strategies - considering a migration from MAGIC to Client/Server or updating to 6.0 from an earlier Client/Server Release. Hoda Sayed-Friel, Vice President of Marketing for MEDITECH, recently sat down with our editors to discuss this.

Setting your course for MEDITECH 6.0
As we kick off the New Year and plan for what's ahead, MEDITECH's readiness to launch Client/Server 6.0 in 2008 is at the forefront.
