Berk Smith

Executive Vice President, Healthcare Group of Perot Systems and leader of the MEDITECH Solutions Group

Berk Smith has been with Perot Systems for over two decades and currently leads Perot Systems' Healthcare Solutions group. Berk is responsible for directing the MEDITECH Solutions Group as it provides consulting, technology integration, and managed services designed to help MEDITECH healthcare organizations worldwide improve patient care and efficiency. 

Prior to his current role, Berk served as executive vice president of the Perot Systems healthcare group, responsible for business development. He has more than 23 years of experience developing and managing client relationships with healthcare payers, providers, and pharmaceutical companies, deploying technology, business, and clinical solutions. Using this broad healthcare expertise, Berk has led Perot Systems in successfully creating relationships with many major healthcare organizations.

In previous roles at Perot Systems, Berk initiated and directed multiple outsourcing relationships. He also served as client executive for several large healthcare relationships.  He was responsible for founding Perot Systems' Payor consulting practice. He has run large software development projects including the creation of  a clinical expert system designed to promote high quality efficient healthcare. Prior to joining Perot Systems, he worked at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a systems engineer. Berk received a bachelor of science degree in business and computer science.
