The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
The Continuing Saga of American Politics…
The Good:
The House of Representatives vote in support of the healthcare reform bill by a 220 – 215 vote seeks to expand coverage for a minimum of 96 percent of all Americans. Though a major step forward in support of the healthcare reform initiative, the Senate still must debate a similar measure – a task much easier said than done.
The Bad:
In a disappointing loss last Monday, my Green Bay Packers went down against the Minnesota Vikings in one of the most anticipated football games of the last eighteen months – the return of Brett Favre to Lambeau Field but donning purple and white instead of the Packers’ green and gold. It was tough to watch Brett play against Green Bay especially with my wife, Sandi, cheering him on. I’ve always tell people that if Brett Favre walked into my house, I would be dropped like a hot potato. It only got worse last Monday. I have to be honest though … it would be great to see Brett go to the Super Bowl. (
PS – she hasn’t dropped me yet.)
The Ugly:
In a sign of unstable support for the Democrat’s healthcare reform plan, The New England Journal of Medicine
released a new study
showing the American opinion on healthcare is nearly identical to the sentiment over President Clinton’s initiatives in 1994. The study examined 30 recent polls and could represent a harbinger of things to come.
The Tragic:
Regardless of our perspective from a world assortment of faiths and beliefs, extending from agnostic to avid churchgoers – we all viewed the Fort Hood massacre as a tragedy. I know that everyone’s thoughts and prayers
extend
to the families and friends of those touched by this tragedy.
