The birth of the Internet heralded a revolution that continues to unfold in our daily lives.
On October 29, 1969, just as the snows were beginning to fall during my freshman year of college in North Dakota, a message was sent across ARPANET from UCLA to Stanford. It was supposed to have read “login” but the system crashed after just two strokes. The first message sent across the Internet was “lo,” and the “gin” was lost. And so began a point in history that changed us, our expectations, and the very fabric of our society today and tomorrow.
