The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

The ongoing saga...

The Good: Phil Jackson and the Los Angeles Lakers prevailed, but then again, I’m partial.  You see, Phil Jackson is from North Dakota – my home state, a member of my fraternity, and the person who occupied my frat room six or seven years before me.  So I have to support him!  With a mix of Zen, philosophy, and strategic play, the back-and-forth series reached the maximum seven games, with the Lakers winning it for their 16th championship.

The Bad: Politics couldn’t get stranger.   Democrat Alvin Greene, an unemployed military veteran who was involuntarily discharged, who lives in his father’s home , who spent no money campaigning and who has obscenity felony charges pending against him, got nearly 60 percent of the vote in South Carolina’s Democratic senatorial primary election.  The leader of the South Carolina Democrat Party has called for him to voluntarily step down, but he’s resisting…  Don’t you love politics?

The Ugly: President Obama’s first live address to the nation from the Oval Office was widely panned by pundits from both sides of the aisle.  It seems that the president, who was the master of the media just months ago, has hit a dry spell.
