Meaningful Use: An Update for Meeting Federal Incentive Payments
Recently, both the Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) issued their final rule for the long-anticipated “meaningful use” criteria. The rule sets the standard that the healthcare industry must adhere to when implementing an electronic health record (EHR) system in order to receive part of the $27.3 billion in incentives authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The webinar took place on Monday, July 19, at 3 p.m. CDT, but you can listen to a replay of the webinar here.
Please join me, Dr. Harry Greenspun, Chief Medical Officer, Dell Healthcare Services, and Tim Quigley, Vice President of Global Business Development, Dell Healthcare Services, as we highlight the recently issued "meaningful use" rule and its impact on providers.
Participants will learn:
- How to best interpret these rules on "meaningful use"
- How the EHR incentive program will affect hospitals and eligible professionals
- Key steps many hospitals and eligible professionals will need to take to meet the "meaningful use" criteria and receive federal incentive payments under ARRA

Finding Value in The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that stimulus package funding will enable approximately 90% of doctors and 70% of hospitals to adopt and “meaningfully use” certified electronic health records within the next decade.
