The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The ongoing saga…

The Good – It’s finally here! After so much anticipation, the 2010 midterms are now taking place – and depending upon when you are reading this, could already be over.  Election Day always illustrates the health of our democracy.  It’s great to live someplace where we can debate, disagree, or agree but finally cast our vote for the direction we desire.

And, how about the Giants!!  As a former San Francisco resident (12+ years), I’m an over-the-top fan.

The Bad As if to add injury-to-injury, a cholera outbreak overtook grief-stricken Haiti, which has been struggling with a rebuilding since the January 2010 7.0-magnitude earthquake that affected more than three million Haitians. There are about 1.3 million Haitians living in crowded refugee camps. As of last weekend, more than 4,500 people are now being treated for cholera with an estimated death toll of 300 lives to date.

The Ugly Mexico has lost more federal agents in the so called “War on Drugs” than any other country, and the civilian violence that has characterized recent cartel clashes continued to escalate this past week.
