The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
The ongoing saga…
The Good: He’s back! After allegedly retiring (again), Brett Favre will be playing in his 20th season in the National Football League. Though he won’t be donning the green and gold for my beloved Green Bay Packers, it will be fun to watch Brett battle it out as the Vikings attempt to win a Super Bowl under the leadership of their legendary quarterback.
The Bad: He’s back! Brett Favre’s return means Aaron Rodgers of the Green Packers will have his work cut out for him. And Sandi (my wife) will be clearly supporting the Vikings while I go with my team. It could make for a couple of tough Sundays.
The Ugly: Applications for unemployment assistance reached 500,000 last week for the first time in almost a year. A sign that employers are cutting more jobs as the economy continues to slow, the numbers of those receiving unemployment subsides from the government has grown four out the past five weeks. Let’s hope something can turn these numbers around quickly…
