Perot Systems Supported Software Release Program for a Leading European Mobile Phone Operator

Our client is one of the leading European mobile phone operators, with a customer base of over 1.8 million. 

Our client is a consistent innovator – introducing new products and services ahead of the competition and setting future standards.  It is a dynamic, competitive marketplace and the ability to deliver new products very quickly, while improving the efficiency of the organization, is critical to gaining market share, reducing operational cost, and improving customer satisfaction. “We needed to improve on the efficiency and productivity of our software development process”, explained our client’s CRM Systems Development Manager.  “We needed to bring together the development processes and components of our CRM software, our products and services, our billing and our IVR/CTI components, in order to streamline our approach to business change.  Our first challenge was to find partners who could work to an aggressive change program in a fast moving technology environment and who could deliver results quickly”.

Our client introduced a software release strategy, which encompasses all aspects of the technology organization.  When a business area produces a requirement for development, change or enhancement, it will filter down through the release process and should impact the entire organization in a controlled and planned way. Original Solutions, now a Perot Systems company, was selected to underwrite an extensive program of software development lifecycle (SDLC) change.

Moving into the CRM area, Perot Systems had a number of project managers, technical and build architects, development teams and testers working onsite to manage business requirements from requirement and functional specifications through to technical design, build and test, and finally to implementation and support. 

The first phase of this Software Release Strategy is complete and the benefits to the customer were significant.  Our client’s range of products with the CRM services to support them are working well and software development productivity has improved.  Our client now has the software tools, the platforms and the templates for development processes and the change management processes in place to support the customer.
