Case Study: Global Biotechnology Company: ISO/IEC20000 Certification
Our client selected Original Solutions, now a part of Perot Systems, to drive the implementation of an ISO/IEC 20000 Service Management Implementation project because of the company’s expertise and experience in the field of implementation of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based IT Service Management Standards.
"We were establishing a brand new IS department and I wanted to provide a structure so that the department could grow globally," explains our client’s Corporate IS Director. "Secondly, we needed to comply with Sarbanes Oxley legislative requirements and achieve ISO/IEC 20000 certification."
Perot Systems demonstrated its commitment to delivering IT best practices, improving internal controls and implementing continuing process improvement. This involved a collaboration of Perot Systems consultants working closely with our client’s management to implement industry standards and best practice, consistent documentation and controls, policies and processes.
"Perot Systems provided a unique blend of world class best practices, integrated processes and comprehensive policies that empowered us to achieve service management excellence — a proven roadmap to turn best practices into reality. They showed us the long-term strategic direction for the company, as well as our short-term requirements, which would be fulfilled under the Sarbanes Oxley legislative requirements," explained the Corporate IS Director.
"We have the documentation and 7 policies and 15 processes that we need to roll out to the company worldwide. The job in hand is to get all of this embedded around the group," says the Corporate IS Director. "Once we have them in place, the benefits will be very significant. We are well on our way to achieving Sarbanes Oxley and ISO/IEC 20000 certification."
