The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

The ongoing saga...

The Good - President Obama and Senate Republicans agreed on a package that extends the tax cuts for all Americans and renews unemployment benefits. Regardless of how you feel about it, its nice to see some compromise and dialogue between our two political parties. Lets hope they can work together even more in the coming year...

The Bad - As we all know, the economy is in dire straits these days, partially because of the sub-prime mortgage crisis. For those of us who are home owners its been particularly painful. The value of homes dropped $1.7 trillion this year due to rising foreclosure rates and the end of the homebuyer tax credits. This figure exceeds the expected $1.05 trillion drop predicted at the beginning of the year and brings the total drop of home prices since 2006 to a whopping $9 trillion. I really try not to think about it...

The Ugly - An increased number of organizations are falling victim to cyber revenge. All over the world, companies who have retracted services from Wikileaks which divulged a massive number of confidential U.S. diplomatic cables have experienced technical difficulties from Anonymous. While the attacks have not caused major damage, they have annoyed users of the websites due to server overload.

Larry King Moves On - After 25 years, Larry King will do his final interviews this week on CNN. I remember when he was only on radio and then he became a part of our regular check-in on television. His interviews are historic. Putin called to be on the final series. And Conan
