The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The ongoing saga...
The Good: In all my travels around the world, one of my favorite places on Earth (after Hawaii and Paris, of course) is Barcelona. I wish I could have been there last night as Spain clinched a victory from the Netherlands in the FIFA World Cup by a 1–0 win. Spain takes its soccer very seriously! Kudos to South Africa for hosting a world class event, since – like the Olympics – the world comes together around a common sport in times of great unrest.
The Bad: As many Southern Californians began to leave work on Wednesday afternoon, an earthquake struck the area. Hitting just outside San Diego, the 5.4-magnitude quake was also felt in Los Angeles and Mexico. After a more severe 7.2-magnitute earthquake shook the region in April, many are wondering what could be next. But if you’ve lived there – it’s part of life...
The Ugly: As President Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Washington earlier in the week, his bodyguards' high-powered weapons did not. A mysterious story that has authorities scouring the country, the guns were strangely misrouted to Los Angeles instead of the District of Columbia. But when the suitcases carrying the weapons arrived back in Washington, they were missing. As police are unsure what happened to the guns, a nationwide search is on. Hum – I wonder how safe my backpack is on all my trips?
