The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
The ongoing saga...
The Good: Sunday marked the 234th anniversary of the birth of America! I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July and enjoyed it with close friends, a hot dog, and of course, some fireworks.
The Bad: In an ongoing sign of a tough economy, contracts for pending sales of previously owned homes dropped a record 30 percent in May. Due in part to the expiration of a popular tax credit in April, it is a sobering reminder that one of the worst recessions in history continues unabated.
The Ugly: In a story that has engulfed many in the mainstream media, 11 people were arrested this week by the FBI as alleged Russian spies. Attempting to access government secrets on energy and nuclear weapons, the apparent covert agents were living peacefully in the United States. One of the most intriguing spy scandals since the Cold War, it will be fascinating to watch this story of espionage unravel in the courtroom.
