The Challenge
When a Tier 1 life and health insurance company needed to improve the efficiency of their document management, data entry, and print and mailroom services, they turned to Perot Systems. Because of a data entry backlog of EOI (Evidence of Insurability) for its group life contracts, the client faced significant challenges achieving their desired service level commitments. Prior to our involvement, the company had difficulty managing the underwriting process for EOI forms, which had become inefficient and led to increased expenses and slow turnaround times. To solve this problem, they needed a service provider who understood the end- to-end business process and provided flexibility to adjust staffing levels based upon business fluctuations.
The Solution
Perot Systems conducted a comprehensive review of the client’s document management and mailroom functions, including an analysis of the EOI underwriting and data entry process. After completing the assessment, Perot Systems developed an efficient EOI Underwriting Adjudication System and assumed responsibility for mailroom, data entry, and, print services for the company. The system was then integrated into the client’s application infrastructure to meet broad interfacing requirements.
The Results
By conducting a thorough analysis and collaborating with the client, Perot Systems was able to increase EOI workflow efficiencies as well as facilitate more seamless data and information sharing. In addition, we have been able to make other business process improvements,
