Perot Systems Women's Network Established
Back to Alumni Connection Articles
We are pleased to announce the creation of the Perot Systems Womens Network. This grass-roots organization will strive to help Perot Systems acquire the right talent, retain top performers, increase communication, promote internal mobility, mentor and develop women, and help enable them to participate, as appropriate, in company initiatives.
As defined in Diversity Studies, women’s networks are self organized groups led by female employees with the endorsement and support of corporate leadership. Perot Systems joins a prestigious list of companies who have established women’s networks, such as AT&T, Accenture, Bank of America, Deloitte, EDS, IBM, Microsoft and Texas Instruments. The Women’s Network is currently working on arranging several exciting and informative events which will be available to all associates.
Perot Systems’ senior leadership team has endorsed this initiative and agreed to participate by offering to speak at select events. Jim Ballard, president of government services, has volunteered his time as an executive sponsor. Kim Besse, vice president of HR, will also lend her support and be an active Network member. Kim also serves as the primary contact for Perot System’s membership with Catalyst. Catalyst is an organization focused on expanding opportunities for women and business.
“One of the key elements for a company to successfully recruit in today’s environment is to have a workforce that reflects current demographics. Today, in many major cities, there are more women in the workforce than men and we need to take that into consideration as we strengthen and expand our mobility and succession planning programs,” says Ballard.
“Research tells us that women represent the single fastest growing segment of the talent pool. Those companies that establish an environment supportive of professional development and growth for talented women will be better positioned to lead in their competitive markets in the future,” says Besse.
The Perot Systems’ Women’s Network is open to all female associates worldwide. If you would like to participate, please complete the following survey so that we can identify your area of interest.
