As a result of this acquisition, more than 1,300 QSS associates will join Perot Systems Government Services (PSGS), amounting to more than 3,400 associates serving the federal government and providing greater technical capabilities in several areas, including homeland security and treasury.
Perot Systems has just taken the next step in our journey towards becoming the most admired technology and business process services company in the world, said Peter Altabef, president and CEO. We plan to leverage QSS Groups excellent set of capabilities to pursue new business opportunities and expand our work with current clients in a number of key areas.
This transaction was a collaboration of the M&A team led by John Harper, Harish Mysore, Noel Samuel, and the PSGS team led by Jim Ballard and Andy Adamshick. Many other groups within the company played key roles including legal, finance and human resources.

To celebrate this success, a reception was held on Tuesday in Bethesda, Maryland to welcome the QSS associates to the Perot Systems family. Ross Perot, Sr., personally greeted many of the 400 QSS associates as they arrived. He later spoke about the significance of this new chapter for Perot Systems and how pivotal a role each individual will play.
Ross Perot, Jr. and John King, one of the eight founders of Perot Systems, also attended the celebration and reflected on how the dream of Perot Systems was developed in Ross Perots kitchen almost 20 years ago. That passion has grown and today Perot Systems is one of the most admired IT companies in the world with more than 22,000 associates worldwide.
Jim Ballard, president of Perot Systems Government Services, spoke about the importance of the federal work done by Perot Systems and welcomed Dick Bishop, president of QSS, as a new advisor to the PSGS board.
As part of the corporate strategy, Perot Systems is focusing on markets that we believe can drive accelerated growth, said Ballard. We have seen tremendous growth in the federal government market and this acquisition will enable us to be an even greater force as we move ahead.
In addition, close to 700 associates participated in a special global call for PSGS and QSS associates featuring Peter Altabef, Jim Ballard and Darcy Anderson, who led the welcome presentation and answered questions for new associates. In the coming weeks, Perot Systems leaders will be visiting 40 QSS sites across the US to meet with associates and complete the on-boarding process.
